Biblical Conversation Comment Policy

Effective date: April 8, 2021

Guests Welcome

Guests are welcome! You do not need to be "part of our community" to reply or comment.  Even so, you will still need to verify your email in some manner (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, or with Disqus. Please see this article for more information.).  Anonymous postings degrade discussion and so are not accepted.

Appropriate Topics

Our discussion group considers biblical texts and topics related to them. All comments, challenges, and replies should be germane to the blog articles being commented upon. This is not a general, political, or marketing blog, nor a place to advertise your products.

Moderated

All posts by all commenters (even members of our community) are moderated, which means comments will need to be approved before they appear on the site. Hence a slight delay will be necessary. This is not due to a lack of trust of our own members, but to system limitations of Disqus and Kajabi which do not allow us to set up automation rules that distinguish between IABC members and guests.  (We are trying to get Kajabi to change this.)

Supportive Engagement

Respectful challenge is always welcome. We adhere to a philosophy of Supportive Engagement, which means we welcome respectful challenge and dialogue, but we will not abide or tolerate the kind of vitriol, personal attacks, or just wasteful complaining that have become commonplace in American political (and sometimes religious) culture.  Anyone violating this will not have comments posted and may be subject to getting banned from the discussion area.  All points of view
(1) relevant for this discussion venue and (2) respectfully offered are welcomed and will be published, even if they disagree with a position of the moderator.
