Before Tuesday, you might want to read Luke 9:28–36 in two or three different translations. It's not required, of course, but it may help you get ready.
You might even want to give the 5-step approach talked about in the video a try:Â
1. Pre-read a block of text—not just a verse. Read through it and pray about it.
2. Recap it after reading again. Write a summary. What is the author trying to do?
3. Observe the text even deeper: the context, key words, key phrases, and key ideas.
4. Brainstorm with others about this text: a commentary, a study partner, or a trusted friend.
5. Engage the author by asking and answering questions. Only then ask, “So what? What does this text mean for me?”
In the upcoming live session, we will not jump from verse to verse or simply collect familiar ideas. We will take time to engage Luke’s telling of the Transfiguration closely, contextually, and conversationally.
After the session, as a thank you for attending, I'll send you:
- A 16-page Bible Reading Guide
- A written study on Luke 9 from The Art of Biblical Conversation
I look forward to meeting you Tuesday evening.
