Essential Check List for
Presenters
in IABC
when Livestreaming & Screensharing with
EasyWebinar

Failing to follow these guidelines could result in
unnecessary problems when livestreaming.
PRESENTER'S CHECK LIST:
Because disruptive tech problems can ruin livestreaming events,
EW tech support advises the following:
- ReBoot: EW advises that you reboot your computer just prior to each livestream. This clears out your computer’s system for optimal performance.
- Browser: EW strongly advises to use updated GOOGLE CHROME browser since this is the most compatible browser with EW.
- Internet connection quality: During the live event, have a strong and stable internet connection.
- Hardline connection to router is stronger and more stable than Wi-fi.
- Any internet connection below 30 mbps is more likely to encounter issues. Recommended 50 mbps or higher.
(Can test at https://speedtest.net) - EW advises to close unused apps/programs during the event to free up load for the hardware/computer.
- Be advised that anyone in your house using the internet (TV, movies, computer, etc) could interfere with a weak system.
- Hardware/Software: Computers are not all the same.
- Ideal would be an i7 processor with 16 GBs of RAM and a good graphics card—or better. An i5 processor would be minimal.
- Lesser computers (even new ones) might work, but they are more likely to experience stability issues during the course of a livestream.
See here for detailed information . - Log Ins: Although possible, it is best not to log in to EW twice from two different computers so as to use two screens; this will drag down your internet load, especially if you have a weak system. Two or more screens are fine if they are connected to the same computer.
- Screen Share vs Uploading PPT:
- Screen sharing will work fine for strong computers and strong internet connections.
- For weaker systems, uploading a PowerPoint presentation to the EW uploads area will reduce drag on your system. (Test this first, since it can change your PowerPoint appearance in some cases.)
- For weaker systems, you might consider turning off your live video stream.
- For more on Screen Share, see next section (below).
Following these guidelines when presenting gives all the best chance for a high-quality, non-interrupted livestream experience.
PRESENTER'S SCREENSHARE:
How to Use Screenshare in Easy Webinar
with only a Single Screen
Screenshare on EW works great when you have two or more physical computer screens. But when you only have one physical computer screen it can be a bit confusing at first.
You will immediately get an infinity screen, like this.

It looks like you broke something, but this is merely EW looking at itself.
Actually, you will be working in two windows: one for EW (above) and one you want to share (below).

So, when sharing window 2, it will look to you like you are simply on your computer, except for the notification box at the bottom of the screen, which you can click to hide.

When looking at Window 2, you won't be able to see the chat area. So it can be disconcerting. For a single screen, there are four possible solutions:
- Good: Toggle back and forth between two windows;
- Best: Have someone else monitor chat for you;
- OK: Log in twice using two computers. This is possible, but not advisable if you have a weak system (namely, old computer, slow internet, etc.)
- Awkward but Possible: Workaround (shown in the video below): reduce window size for both EW and target window, and put them side by side. This is awkward and can look strange on recordings, but it is possible. Not really recommended, but possible.
